Tuition Policies

Tuition for the school year is due as outlined in the Enrollment Contract.  Questions regarding payment and tuition should be directed to the school finance office.

TUITION ASSISTANCE

Each year The Barbara Gordon Montessori School incorporates into the operating budget an amount for tuition assistance grants.  Awards are based primarily on financial need as determined by an independent assessment of an outside agency (SSS).

The Financial Aid Committee is made up of two members of the Board of Trustees, the Finance Director, the Head of School and a CPA.  Names and details of all forms and information submitted by applicants are held in the strictest of confidence.

Families wishing to apply for tuition assistance are asked to complete the following requirements:

  • Complete the SSS application and mail by March 31st.  Applications may be obtained from the office beginning in January.
  • A signed enrollment contract for the coming school year must be on file to show intent to register at BGMS in tuition assistance is awarded.  The tuition deposit is not required at this point.
  • If there are circumstances which affect the family's ability to remain at the school which are not made apparent by the SSS application, please feel free to send a confidential letter under separate cover to the Head of School explaining the special circumstances.  This step is not required.
  • Families who have applied will be notified by May 15th of the status and amount of their award.  Families receiving awards will be mailed a revised enrollment contract which must be signed and returned along with the tuition deposit within 10 days.  Contracts not received within 10 days may forfeit their award.
