Teresa, a Montessori child herself, graduated from college with a B.A. in Psychology from De La Salle University in Manila. There she taught Montessori for four years before moving to the United States and obtaining her AMI Primary diploma from the Ohio Montessori Training Institute. She joined BGMS in 1999. Teresa enjoys traveling and the performing arts.

MANUELA NIÑO (Ms. Manuela) Assistant to Ms. Aquino

Manuela attended high school while still living in Mexico, and attended Eastfield College in the US studying Computer Programming. She lived in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico; South Carolina and now Dallas. She has three children, five grandchildren and two adopted grandchildren. She enjoys reading, crocheting, walking, swimming and doing volunteer work. Manuela loves working with children, and spent many years working as a nanny.

LUCY CÁÑEZ (Ms. Lucy) Guide

Originally from Norfolk, Virginia, Lucy earned a B.S. in Sociology from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She completed an AMI diploma for children ages 3-6 from Atlanta Montessori Institute. Before joining BGMS in 1987, she taught at Montessori schools in Virginia, Austin and Dallas. Her other interests include yoga, gardening, cooking and singing.

MICHELLE BIBB (Ms. Michelle) Assistant to Ms. Lucy

Michelle has her Associate Degree in Early Childhood Development from Eastfield College and her Preschool/Kindergarten Montessori Teaching Diploma from the North American Montessori Center. She grew up in western New York, but now lives in the DFW area with her two daughters. She has 12 years experience with children ages newborn to school-age. She enjoys watching movies and hanging out with her family.

FAWZIA HASSAN (Ms. Fawzia) Guide

Fawzia received her B.A. from Karachi University and her AMI Primary Diploma from the Montessori Training Center in Karachi, Pakistan. She moved from her home along the Arabian Sea to Texas in 1992, toured many Montessori schools, discovered BGMS and has been here ever since. Fawzia enjoys music and is fluent in both Urdu and English.

YAMUNA PERERA (Ms. Yamuna) Assistant to Ms. Fawzia

Yamuna attended the University of Columbo in Sri Lanka and also Bauder Fashion College in Arlington where she obtained an Associate Degree in Fashion Design. She worked for seven years at the Amerasian International Private Limited and later graduated from a Montessori training program in Sri Lanka. Yamuna joined BGMS in 2006.

RAANA SAIYED (Ms. Raana) Guide

Raana has 13 years of experience in her BGMS Primary class, first as assistant, then co-guide, and now guide. She received her AMI Primary diploma from Montessori Institute of North Texas (MINT) in Dallas in 2007. Raana has a B.A. in Psychology from Government Women’s College in Karachi, Pakistan and an M.A. in Psychology from the University of Karachi. She enjoys traveling, family outings and reading.

ROXANA CAMPBELL (Ms. Roxana) Assistant to Ms. Raana

Roxana completed her formal education in Mexico City at the Universidad Panamericana. Since graduation, she has mostly worked in Human Resources. Recently, though, her experience has been working in childcare and education. In her spare time she likes to sew and decorate. She also enjoys camping, antiques and spending time with her husband, Rick, and their two children, one of whom attends BGMS.
