Lower Elementary Program

6 - 9 years

Mon-Fri, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm

Students in the lower elementary class build upon skills and concepts introduced in the primary environment.  Montessori materials, along with timelines and impressionistic charts, are used to introduced new concepts.  Mathematics, language, geography, history and the cultural subjects are presented in such a manner that the reasoning mind and active imagination of the six through nine year-old student are actively engaged.  Throughout the week, specialists incorporate Spanish and music into the work period.  The elementary environment is designed to meet the child's growing social interest and provides opportunities for both individual and group work.  The BGMS elementary program is designed to encourage exploration, research, collaboration and sharing.
