We listened to your feedback, heard your suggestions and have made some changes to our communications regarding fund-raising at BGMS. Understanding that at times it was confusing for you to clearly distinguish our fundraising goals and the various formats through which you can help us throughout the school year, we thought it opportune to clarify both "why and how" we raise funds.
Why do we fund-raise?
Like most independent schools, we look to the help of Parents, Staff and friends to bridge the financial gap between our income (tuition and fees) and daily operating costs at the school. The primary reason for this gap is that we work hard to keep tuition costs at a competitive rate in accordance with other private schools in the area. This financial gap is referred to as the "BGMS Annual Fund."
How do we fund-raise?
BGMS, its Board and the Fund-raising Committee in conjunction with a great team of enthusiastic parents, work hard to provide a variety of events in which you can show your support.
This year, we will raise a total of $166,500 through the three components of the "BGMS Annual Fund":
"We Pledge 2 BGMS" Campaign - Goal: $88,000 - a pledge program where parents, staff and friends of the school can contribute an agreed sum on a one off or monthly basis
Parent Organization Fund-raising - Goal $7,000 - i.e. Garage Sale, Fudgie Wudgie, Restaurant Nights
Spring Soirée - Goal: $71,000 - Dinner, dancing, and Silent & Live Auction event
This new campaign had the theme of "The Garden." We ask for your help in growing our garden, and helping to create a more sustainable future for BGMS.
