Almost Home – Before and After School Care

"Almost Home," the BGMS before and after school program, is offered to children who require care beyond the normal classroom hours.  Set in a comfortable home-like atmosphere complete with a variety of age-appropriate materials.  Almost Home provides activities which complement the BGMS Montessori program, including arts and crafts, story time, sharing, playground and a variety of other activities.  Here children have the time to explore their interests in an unhurried and unscheduled fashion so that at the end of the day, they are fulfilled and relaxed as they prepare to re-enter their own home.

Almost Home is available to all students enrolled at the Barbara Gordon Montessori School students age three years and older.  Children must be completely potty trained to be eligible for Almost Home care. 

Doors open at Almost Home at 7 a.m. and close at 6 p.m.  Parents may select any combination of hours during this time.  Programs are available for two, three or five day time periods (please see options to the right)

Enrollment

A separate application is required for admission into Almost Home.  All children and parents new to Almost Home will meet with the Director prior to beginning the program.  Immunization records and a BGMS authorization form must be current and on file in the office

Summer

Almost Home is open until 6 p.m. throughout the summer complementing the BGMS summer classes.  Registration packets for our summer program in Almost Home are available in late spring.
