Mary Caroline Parker (Ms. Parker) Head of School

Mary Caroline holds a B.A. in Latin American Studies from Smith College, A M.Ed. in Montessori Integrative Learning from Endicott College, and a J.D. from American University in Washington D.C. She earned the AMI Primary diploma in 1975 from the Centro de Estudios de Educaciónin Mexico City

Mary Caroline’s Montessori experience includes work as a classroom assistant and primary guide at Austin Montessori School and as a toddler guide and primary guide at St. Alcuin Montessori School in Dallas. During a 20-year break from teaching she went to law school and practiced law, and then returned to Montessori education as the school director at East Dallas Community School, an AMI school serving a culturally and ethnically diverse group of primarily low-income families.

Mary Caroline is a member of the board of directors of AMI in Amsterdam. She’s also active in local organizations, as a member of the boards of the Montessori Institute of North Texas (MINT) (an AMI teacher training center), the Montessori Institute of Texas (MIT) (an organization offering professional development opportunities for Montessori teachers and administrators), and AMITOT (an organization that inspects and licenses Texas Montessori schools). She serves as an adjunct faculty member in the master’s program offered by The Institute for Educational Studies in collaboration with Endicott College.

Mary Caroline speaks Spanish, Portuguese, and French. She has lived in Brazil and Mexico, and has enjoyed travelling throughout Latin America and around the world. Her two daughters, both grown now, attended Montessori schools in Mexico, St. Alcuin Montessori School, and Mater Amoris Montessori School in Ashton, Maryland.

 

DR. LARRY QUADE (Mr. Larry) Pedagogy Advisor

Larry is an Auxiliary Trainer for AMI at the Primary level. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Montessori Institute of North Texas, Dallas, where he assists in training Primary teachers. Larry has been a Montessori teacher and school administrator for 25 years. He joined BGMS in 2000 as a Primary Guide, and served as Head of School in 2004-2005 and Interim Head in 2010. He has a B.A. in Anthropology from the Univ. of Texas at Austin and a Ph.D. in Anthropology from the Univ. of Kansas. He was tenured Associate Professor at Washburn Univ. in Topeka, Kansas.

 

PAMELA POSPISIL (Ms. Pamela) Receptionist

Pamela came to BGMS with over 25 years of experience as a receptionist/office assistant. She has worked in various industries, including telephone directory publishers and the oil and gas industry. She was born in Enid, Oklahoma, but was raised in NW Oklahoma City. She moved to Texas in 1983, living in Grapevine all those years, and loving it. She enjoys gardening, walking, movies and spending time with family and friends. She has two wonderful children, Kristin and Alex.

 

BRIAN BROOKS (Mr. Brian) Marketing & Development Director

Brian has a B.S. in Marketing from Arizona State University. This is his fourth year at BGMS. Brian previously worked for the Boy Scouts of America for five years where he gained his knowledge of working with non-profits. He has many years of experience in marketing and graphic design, and has even worked on as a radio personality, and a PA Announcer for a semi-pro basketball team. Brian lives in Keller with his wife, Megan, and his son who attended BGMS.

 

JOSÉ GARCIA (Mr. José) Maintenance

José moved here from Mexico nearly 25 years ago. He has worked in landscaping for over 15 years, doing work for major hotels, and even some of the Dallas Cowboys. His passion is arranging flowers. Jose is married and has three daughters. He has been a part of the BGMS family for eight years.

 

BRENDA O’KELLEY (Ms. Brenda) Administratiive Assistant

After earning a degree in Social Work at Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas, Brenda worked for several years in the Dallas County health system. Brenda came to BGMS in 1998. She is a native of Texas and has two daughters and five grandchildren.

 

TRICIA TUSCANA (Ms. Tricia) Finance

Tricia runs a small bookkeeping business from her home in Bedford. She has worked as office manger/bookkeeper for restaurant franchises for the last 17 years. She has lived in Texas for 30 years and has two children. She enjoys the outdoors, music and cooking. This is Tricia’s eighth year at BGMS.

 

JOAN VEAZEY (Ms. Joan) Purchasing and Inventory

Joan attended Lincoln College, majoring in Early Childhood Education, and taught kindergarten for 15 years before coming to BGMS. She has been with us for 23 years and has an adult son who attended our school as a child. Joan likes to write historical fiction and children’s books and hopes to get published one day. She also loves assisting her husband, who is a wonderful nature photographer.
